Renaissance and Radiation 2009-10

Entravaganza of Creativity experienced this November @ Destination

Rustomjee International School.

Unbelievable, but true! Creativity has found a permanent home. Innovation coupled with style and caliber decorated with charisma is what Rustomjee International School unveiled on the 21st of November 2009 as it celebrated its Annual Science and Art Festival – Renaissance and Radiation.

The Senior Group (Std VIII and Std IX)Rustomites explored every corner of their treasure trove of talents as they engaged themselves in Cave Making; a completely new activity, ever taken up by students. The zeal for ‘making simple things look really attractive’ had led some of the other students bring amazing designs to reality in Bangle Making. Patterns crowned with stunning finesse is what described the work of students busy in Greeting Card Making.

Well, maintaining the high level of quality work, the Junior Group Rustomites (Std V – Std VII) prepared some absolutely breath taking and moreover thought provoking projects based on relevant topics carefully selected from Science, History and Geography.

Practising what it preaches, Rustomjee International School has always encouraged ‘environmental concern’ and this time, it has given a very practical and effective meaning to the slogan ‘Best out of Waste’. Well, the young environmentalists of Rustomjee did their small bit by utilizing waste material and turning them into utility products namely Paper weights, wind chimes and even soap and candle carving. Now that is a perfect combination of intellect and sensitivity.

Creativity has indeed found a permanent home and here is something more that every visitor enjoyed to the hilt.

Never heard before, never tried before, paintings of a different genre, not only awesome but path-breaking. The art room of Rustomjee International School was abuzz with suggestions, discussions and at the same time radiant with magnificent strokes of the brush, as the dedicated student artists engaged in beautifying canvass after canvass. Dipping the paint brushes into bottles of bright colours, the Picassos of Rustomjee were busy setting new trends in the world of art as they painted, ‘Aliens having a kitty party’, ‘Ants having a fashion show’, ‘Cockroaches dancing on bread’, ‘Birds playing hide and seek’ and ‘Animals enjoying a New Year Party’.

All in all it was a completely dazzling experience as Rustomjee International School unleashed its best, once again!

Staring: The Flame of Rustomjee 2009-10 - Ulka Gupta

Superbly talented and equally gusty well these are few words that go to speak volumes about Ulka Gupta the budding star of Rustomjee.

Acting and the skill of co-ordinating emotions with dialogues, was something that she began to prove at a very young age when she bagged the first place in a Sr.KG Fancy Dress Competition.

Blossoming into an excellent actor Ulka has displayed her caliber to move the audience and her viewers in soaps like Resham Dank, Saat Phere, and her mega break on the small screen is the lead role that she is currently playing in the historical and power pached serial, Jhansi Ki Rani. Thanks to her passion for Acting, Horse-Riding and Sword Fighting, the portrayal of Rani Laxmibhai as a child has been justified by her to a great degree.

Drawing immense inspiration from her father Gagan Gupta, she had developed a fondness for acting at the age of 9. Undoubtedly supported by her to the sets, inspite of having to manage home and her daughter growing career, Ulka is surely going to go greater miles.

If you thought that this young stars forte is only acting, hold on, she also excels in sports and has proved her sporting mettle in Hudles. Well, she is equally sensitive about creating awareness and has featured in an advertisement for National Public Health to alert and suggest surd people about the dangers and measures to prevent diarrhoea.

A proving star, she believes in doing most of the stunts herself and her favourite scenes in her current show are those wherein she fights the British. As we wish Ulka the best in all her future endeavours, one of which is to be a Cameraman, we are proud that our children are beginning to go the holistic way, as she balances studies, sports, acting perfectly well!

Way to Go Rustomite.....
